Our History

With the winning combination of Raphael Ceschi's vast culinary experience, and the hospitality expertise of Ken Mathewson, The Little Italian shop was able to open its doors to the people of St Andrews on the 1st July, 2006.  It was a dream come true for Raphael, who had the ambition of bringing authentic, regional Italian food to a place where customers would be able to shop for the best all-Italian ingredients, essential to good Italian cooking.

The Little Italian Shop is a firm step up from the average high-street deli.  It prides itself in providing customers with the chance to find everything they could possibly need for a deliciously successful Italian meal - everything from the butter and olive oil, to the garlic, Parmigiano, prosciutto and pastas, as well as a small, but specially selected range of  regional wines.

The shop is constantly evolving. Throughout the year you will be able to find seasonal specials - from sweet melons and sicilian tomatos during the summer, to fresh porcini and chanterelle mushrooms in autumn.

We have had a very good reception so far and we hope to keep our customers' taste buds tingling for years to come!
