Campania
Campania is a region celebrated for its climate, the fertility of the land and the astonishingly beautiful landscapes. The territory is made up mostly of gentle rolling hills, apart from the Matese mountains bordering Molise and the rugged Irpinia area. Mount Vesuvius on the Gulf of Naples is one of the very few volcanoes which are still active in Europe. The gulf of Naples and the Amalfi Coast in Salerno, separated by the Sorrento peninsula, are world famous for high cliffs, sandy bays, grottoes and islands (Ischia, Procida, Capri). The region supplies such a great experience for the senses - the feel of the air, the odours of the pine trees, lemons and oranges-such that the ancients rightly called this region "felix ager", a happy land.
Campania boasts mild winters and hot summer days cooled down by the gentle breeze.
The produce of Campania has worldwide fame, from
Buffalo Mozzarella to
Limoncello Liqueur, from the Vesuvian
wines to the Pomodori San Marzano....the list is endless!
