



Puglia (or Apulia, in English) is a long peninsula, mostly occupied by plains and hills, apart from some lower mountains of the Southern Apennine chain and the Gargano promontory, today a Natural Reserve,with high, steep cliffs. The very long coastline is famous for its sandy beaches.
The southern city ofTaranto is a very important port with a large contigent of the Italian Navy. Lecce is a beautiful town and the beach surrounding it is among the best in Italy. Puglia is most definitely a region to visit.
The produce of Puglia is amazing because of the fertile land and the fantastic climate. Puglia is the largest producer of Italian extra virgin olive oil which has a unique buttery, fruity taste with a gorgeous, peppery finish.
